New investments are very important for all community and its future. They bring new workplaces, thus ensuring welfare and security for the inhabitants. Therefore the local authorities more and more frequently are trying to be the first in the race for a new investor and they are aware of the fact that only the best can win it! It is for the best and the most resilient communities, the communities which succeed in investments and can boast the highest official work quality marks, that the "Community Fair Play" - Certified Investment Location Program was created.
THE PROGRAM'S ORIGIN
The first edition of the "Community Fair Play" - Certified Investment Location Program took place in the year 2002. The idea itself was created, among others, on the basis of long years of relations with the winners of the parallel "Business Fair Play" Program. This experience let us conclude that if there exist ethical and honest, therefore commendable businesses, there must also be model communities that promote sustainable development, which is beneficial to local residents and enterprises. The entrepreneurs we worked with pointed out the need of having a review of the work of local authorities which not only organize the everyday life of community inhabitants and investors, but also shape their image which can either encourage the entrepreneurs to invest on their area or effectively discourage them to do so.
ORGANIZERS
"Community Fair Play" Program is affiliated with the Polish Chamber of Commerce and organized by the Institute for Private Enterprise and Democracy which boasts many years' experience in promoting ethics and entrepreneurship among both investors and local authorities (as demonstrated by our training courses, conferences and studies, such as "Entrepreneurship Development in Rural Areas", "Investment Promotion in Municipalities", "Investment Strategies of the Communities", "Co-Operation between Non-Governmental Organizations and Local Authorities", etc.). In 2009 Institute's team commenced the implementation of subsequent projects. Two of them are realized in the regions of mazowieckie and śląskie and they regard the identification systems of branches which ensure the High Quality Jobs (PWJ) as well as the mechanisms and solutions supporting the creation of High Quality Jobs. They are also addressed to the local government units (for more about these and other Institute's projects please see the web site www.iped.pl).
Thanks to subsequent editions of "Community Fair Play" Program we manage not only to identify, but also to promote the communities which care for the local interests and create on their areas possibly the best conditions for commercial and investment activity's development. Many Laureates, thanks to their participation in this Program, have established relations resulting in new investments, currently under completion. Many communities have developed new ideas for effective promotion, have received support in finding the right direction in their development or have been convinced that success is worth investing time and work.
We believe and we are convinced that our common actions will bring many new, measurable benefits not only to the winners of "Community Fair Play" Program or new investors, but will also be useful for the inhabitants of the awarded communities.
